Explore the benefits of drone photography

18 November 2025 · 4 min read

A plain-language guide to where drone photography is genuinely useful — and where it's just expensive marketing dressing.

Drone photography sells well, but it isn't right for every brief. The honest list of where it's genuinely worth the cost: property listings with meaningful surroundings, large event coverage, construction and progress monitoring, marketing campaigns tied to a specific place, and inspection work where access would otherwise be expensive.

Where it's usually wasted money: small interior properties with no outdoor context, indoor events, headshot and portrait work, and any brief where the photographer can't articulate exactly what the aerial shot adds.

If you're not sure whether your shoot needs aerial coverage, ask the photographer. A good one will tell you when it isn't worth the additional cost.
